Toronto Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was Toronto’s best hitter in the postseason. With the Blue Jays one win away from winning the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, Guerrero Jr. was expected to lead the offense in Game 6 on Friday.

The home team faced a dominant Yoshinobu Yamamoto at the Rogers Center, and during the fourth inning of the game, Guerrero Jr. struck out on a pitch at 1-2.

The All-Star slugger disagreed with the home plate umpire’s decision and turned around to exchange a few words before leaving the dugout with a disgruntled look.

Fans reacted to Guerrero Jr. being frustrated with the call as replays showed the pitch skimming the zone.

“Perfect pitch. Hate it if you’re the hitter, love it if you’re the pitcher, barely clipped. Art.”

Vladimir Guerrero was 1 for 3 Friday as the Blue Jays managed one run against Yamamoto in a 3-1 loss as the Dodgers forced a deciding Game 7 at Rogers Center.

Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. surpassed his Hall of Famer father’s home run total in the World Series.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has eight home runs and 15 RBIs with an OPS of 1.337 in 16 playoff games for the Blue Jays. He hit his second World Series home run after the Blue Jays faced back-to-back Blake Snell to open Game 5.

His two World Series homers represent the same number of homers his father hit in his entire postseason career in 188 plate appearances. The Blue Jays infielder will have to stand out for the team in Game 7 as the Dodgers send Shohei Ohtani to the mound against Toronto’s Max Scherzer.
