The action continues on matchday nine of the Spanish La Liga as Sevilla host Mallorca on Saturday at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. Mallorca enter the weekend on a run of four defeats from their four away matches this season and will be looking to end that drought.
Sevilla claimed their first league win over Barcelona since October 2015 in their last outing before the international break when they ran riot in a shock 4-1 win at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
Matias Almeyda’s men have gone unbeaten in five of their last six matches, winning four and drawing one since kicking off the 2025-26 La Liga campaign with back-to-back defeats to Athletic Club and Getafe.
Sevilla have collected 13 points from their eight La Liga matches so far to sit sixth in the league table, but could level on points with third-placed Villarreal with a win this weekend.
On the other hand, Mallorca were sent down to earth last time out when they lost 2-1 to Athletic Club at the San Mames Stadium.
Before that, Jagoba Arrasate’s side secured their first win of the campaign on September 27 when they beat Alaves 1-0 at home, ending a run of nine consecutive matches without a win since May 10.
Mallorca have managed just five points from a possible 24 in La Liga so far to sit bottom of the league standings, level on points with 19th-placed Real Sociedad.
