Former WWE star Duke ‘The Dumpster’ Droese was arrested in May, which ended up attracting a lot of attention around the world. The veteran made his debut in the company in 1990 and managed to make headlines with his work in and out of the squared circle.
Duke Droese was one of the biggest names in the company at the time and had one of the most heated rivalries with Triple H during his tenure in the company. Droese last wrestled in 2023 on the independent circuit and remains closely tied to the wrestling industry.
Duke Droese was arrested for attempted aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor on May 2 in Tennessee, and if convicted of a class D felony, he could end up spending 2-4 years behind bars. The veteran allegedly attempted to purchase child sexual abuse material using his Coinbase account, leading authorities to be alerted and make his arrest.
According to the latest reports from PWInsidera hearing will now be held on October 22 in Warren County, Tennessee. If Droese cannot reach a plea agreement, then a trial will be scheduled at the hearing. An update on Droese’s status may be provided after the hearing. Time will tell what the allegations against the veteran lead to.
Former WWE Star Speaks Out About Duke Droese Scandal
Former WWE Superstar EC3 has commented on Duke Droese’s arrest. The star discussed her scandal in an edition of The outlaws of wrestling and said it was troubling to see the veteran get involved in such an explicit purchase in the first place.
“Nothing is good about this. If I hate anything other than sexual assault, it’s probably pedophilia. So, and you can delete that if you need to. But, I mean, the idea, because there are a lot of amateurs, kind of like child trafficking, you know, undercover guys who lure these guys into traps and then confront them with all the evidence and the videos, and then the cops are in waiting. You can imagine Duke ‘The Dumpster’ Droese is on a Chris Hansen special.” (Starting at 2:18)
Although an update on Duke Droese’s case is still pending, fans will have to wait and see if another WWE star comes forward to solve the case.
