Two powerful explosions shook the center of Kabul on Thursday evening, AFP journalists noted.
The first deafening explosion occurred around 9:50 p.m. local time (17:20 GMT) and was followed by a second explosion a few minutes later.
“The incident is under investigation, but no casualties have been reported yet and everything is fine,” government spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid told X, adding that the information would be released later.

On social media, several people reported hearing the explosions and seeing drones.
In the streets of the capital, many security forces were alerted and searching cars, noted an AFP journalist. Cell phone service was down in several neighborhoods.
Earlier on Thursday, Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi arrived in India for a two-day visit, a new step in the Taliban government’s efforts to gain international support, with Russia currently the only country to recognize the Islamic Emirate.
