When Terence Crawford has debated remuneration with UFC stars

The former UFC Welters weight champion, Kamaru Usman, and the boxing star Terence Crawford clashed on the differences in remuneration between MMA and boxing.

Usman argued that MMA fighters benefit from a clearer structure where remuneration is simple, while boxing bags are often divided between managers and promoters before reaching the athlete.

Crawford replied by declaring that boxing pays more overall, with even Undercard fighters who sometimes become headliners from the UFC. Speaking in an episode of Book 4 books Podcast, Crawford said:

“Boxers are paid more than the MMA as a whole. It is not a comparison … For example, UFC, a guy at the head of the sphere, they are probably getting a few million dollars. But you will see a guy on the subcart of a large spectacle that probably wins more than this guy.
