Tehran:
A member of the Basij of Iran’s paramilitary force, linked to the body of the Islamic revolutionary guard, was killed Thursday in an attack in the southeast region of the country, reported the state media.
“Reza Azarkish, local member of Basij, in the city of Iranshahr, in the province of Sistan-Baluchistan, was shot dead by a terrorist group,” the Guards des Guards des Guards in a statement said.
They did not specify which militant group was behind the attack, but said that efforts were underway to arrest the authors.
Earlier, in the same province, a police commander, injured Tuesday in an attack, died of his injuries, bringing the number of deaths of this three attack.
“Colonel Ebrahim Fazilat, police commander of Sib and the county of Suran, who was seriously injured in the terrorist attack on the road to Zahedan-Khash on September 16, joined his martyr companions,” said the province’s police information center, according to the Irna state news agency.
