Doha: The Prime Minister of Qatar warned on Wednesday that an unprecedented Israeli strike in Doha targeting Hamas killed the hope for the hostages of Gaza, calling the Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu “brought to justice”.
His comments one day came after deadly strikes targeted Hamas leaders in Qatar – an American ally – a first in the Gulf rich in oil that has shaken a region for a long time.
“I think what Netanyahu did yesterday, he just killed all hope for these hostages,” said Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in CNN.
Doha “re-evaluates everything” around their involvement in the talks of the future ceasefire and discussing the next steps with Washington, he added in the comments mentioned in the live blog of CNN after an interview with the broadcaster.
The attack, only three months after Iran launched a reprisals on an American air base in Qatar, also put a serious doubt about the cease-fire talks of Gaza mediated by Qatar and undermined security insurance in the Gulf of the key ally of Washington.
Earlier Wednesday, the Minister of Defense Israel Katz promised that Israel “would act against his enemies anywhere” while Netanyahu exhorted Qatar to expel Hamas officials or take them into account, “because if you don’t do it.”
Qatar has welcomed Hamas’ political office since 2012 with the blessing of Washington and was a key mediator in Gaza’s discussions alongside Egypt and the United States.
The Israeli army said that it had hit Huthi targets in Yemen on Wednesday, especially in the Sanaa capital, killing 35 people according to the rebels.
The Palestinian militant group Hamas said six people had been killed in Tuesday strikes in Qatar, but that its senior leaders had survived, saying “the enemy’s inability to assassinate our brothers in the negotiation delegation”.
The White House said Trump did not agree with Israel’s decision to take military measures.
Trump said he had not been informed in advance and when he heard, his envoy Steve Witkoff immediately warned Qatar – but the attack had already started.
Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon sought to justify the decision, saying to an Israeli radio station: “It was not an attack on Qatar; it was an attack on Hamas.”
“Consciousness shaken by the world”
HosSam Badran, member of the Hamas political bureau, said that Israel “represents a real danger to the security and stability of the region”.

“It is in an open war with everyone, not only with the Palestinian people,” he said.
On Wednesday, in Gaza City, the Israeli army destroyed another high -rise building when it intensified its assault against the largest urban center in the territory, despite assembly calls to end its campaign.
The army issued an evacuation warning to those who live in and around the Tiba 2 tower, before later saying that he had “struck a high -rise building which was used by the terrorist organization of Hamas”.
AFP images have shown huge plumes of smoke that escapes in the sky while the residential tower of the west of the city of Gaza crashed on the ground.
Following, the young girls rushed to pick dust covered with rubble.
Siham Abu al-Foul told AFP that she could not take anything with her when the army issued the evacuation orders.
“They dropped the tower and we came running and there was nothing left … Everything we have repaired in two years disappeared in a minute.”
The Israeli army said it had reached 360 targets since Friday and promised that it “would increase the rate of targeted strikes” in the Gaza region in the coming days.
The Gaza War has created catastrophic humanitarian conditions for the population of more than two million, the United Nations, declaring last month declaring a famine in the city of Gaza and its surroundings.
The head of the EU Ursula von der Leyen said that it would push to sanction “extremist” Israeli ministers and to slow down commercial ties on the disastrous situation.
“What’s going on in Gaza has shaken the awareness of the world,” she said.
