The Israeli bulldozers have uprooted hundreds of trees in the village of the West Bank of Al-Mughayyir on Sunday in the presence of the Israeli army, according to AFP journalists who witnessed the scene.

Most of the slaughtered vegetation seemed to be olive trees, essential to the economy and culture of the West Bank, while the Groves olive was also a lightning point for violent clashes between farmers and the encroachment of Israeli colonists.

Abdelatif Mohammed Abu Aliya, a local farmer from the village near Ramallah, said that he had lost olive trees that were over 70 years old on approximately one hectare of land.

“They completely uprooted them and leveled them in false pretexts,” he said.
