Las Vegas-There was only one way in which the AS coach of Las Vegas Becky Hammon could describe the MVP MVP A’ja Wilson of the Wnba A’ja Wilson becoming the first player in the history of the League to record a double-double 30-20.

“It’s just a’ja being aja,” she said.

She shook her head with admiration.

“She could probably have had one in the past,” added Hammon. “I never really let her go to the offensive glass this year, where we highlighted this more.”

Wilson finished with 32 points on 13 shots out of 25 to accompany his 20-year-old second career night, leading the ACE to a 94-86 victory on Connecticut Sun on Sunday evening. It was his 14th double-double of the season.

“It’s huge,” said Wilson, who recorded his 30th career match at 30 points and sixth this season. “I didn’t even know, as many big as we did in this league, it’s a bit of shock that it happens. It is a blessing. I love what I do. I love what I do. Teammate Jackie Young said Wilson never ceased to surprise.

Wilson, who this season has become the fastest and most large player to score 5,000 career points, ranks first for 30 points since entering the League in 2018.

“It’s pretty cool to have my name in records for this,” said Wilson, who was 29 on Friday. “I’m sure there will be a lot of follow -up. So yes, it’s pretty cool to be the first.”
