At least nine dead, 16 injured as bus reversals in Vietnam Magic Post

At least nine people, including children, were killed in central Vietnam when a bus crashed early on Friday, the government said.

The accident, which took place at 1:45 am in the central province of Ha Tinh, made 16 others injured, the government said in a statement.

Traffic accidents are common in Vietnam, road accidents killing 5,024 people in the first half of this year, compared to 5,343 during the same period of 2024, according to data from the National Office of Government Statistics.

The government report said the bus was on the road to the capital, Hanoi, in Danang when it left the road and hit the traffic panels before driving.

All the injured were hospitalized with several injuries, said the government, adding that the dead are aged 4 to 49.
