Tagbilaran City – Adopting to become a key player in sports tourism, Bohol lays the foundations to welcome the Regional Athletic Association Central Visayas (CVIRAA) in 2028, and is preparing an offer to host the Palarong Pambansa, the country’s largest sporting event for student -athletes.
The provincial government, in partnership with the Ministry of Education in the Central Visayas Region, convened the first coordination meeting on July 21 for the local organizing committee of CVIRAA 2028.
With 10,000 to 12,000 athletes and delegates expected, Bohol is now focusing on infrastructure, transport, billiard districts and interinishing coordination to ensure fluid and secure accommodation of these major events.
“It’s more than just a sporting event – it’s a chance to present Boholan Pride and Unity,” said Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado. “We want Cviraa 2028 to be a memorable experience for everyone and an investment in the future of our province.”
As the first and unique world geopark of UNESCO of the Philippines, Bohol plans to integrate sporting development with its natural beauty and its rich cultural heritage, offering participants a unique Boholano experience. -London
