While Prince George is preparing for his future as an apparent heir, the reports suggest that his parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton, begin to prepare him for the responsibilities of the throne. A major aspect of his future training is military service, according to the former butler Royal Grant Harrold.
Harrold, addressing a study dog of the online learning platform, said that, like Prince William and King Charles before him, Prince George “will have to” follow military training as part of his royal functions. “You are the commander of the armed forces, so you have to know the profession,” said Harrold. Although he noted that there could be less pressure on George compared to the previous heirs, he stressed that military training is essential for future kings.
Regarding George’s studies, Harrold also shared that he is not clear if he and his brothers and sisters, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, will go to university. “We can see that George, Charlotte and Louis may not all go to university,” said Harrold, suggesting that they could follow a path more suitable for their royal roles, as attending the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
Stressing the difference in George’s future compared to his brothers and sisters, Harrold added: “He is considered vital for future kings to have a kind of military training, you can therefore guarantee that George, whether he loves him or not, will have to follow this military training.”
Earlier this year, George received a key lesson from royalty during the day’s day, where he accompanied his parents to tea for veterans – an event not assisted by his young brothers and sisters. This gesture also pointed out George’s early preparation for his future role.
