At least 30 people were injured early on Saturday morning when a vehicle went into a crowd outside a club on Boulevard Santa Monica in Los Angeles, the city’s fire and local media said.
At least seven people were in critical condition and six others were seriously injured, the fire service said in an online statement.
Reuters was not immediately able to contact the city’s police service.
The incident occurred just before 2 a.m., local time (0900 GMT) said the fire service.
Captain Adam Vangerpen, spokesperson for the fire service, was cited by ABC News, saying that an ambulancers evaluating one of the injured had found a ball injury. He said he was unable to confirm the information that it was the driver of the car who hit the crowd.
The car, he said, apparently fell in love with a tacos truck outside the place, then plowed a valet stand and in a large group of people.
Videos published on X showed that the roads were sealed and patients abducted in ambulances.
The authorities have not given any immediate detail on the cause of the driver’s incident or identity.
