San Miguel beer goalkeeper Jericho Cruz did not have a good day at the office offensively in match 2 of the PBA Philippine Cup final. So naturally, he did what he could to help in other departments.
In Beermen’s 98-92 victory on TNT at Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday evening, Cruz spaced the ground as much as he could to make sure that everyone had their moment to shine in the victory that equaled the series to 1-1.

“Earlier, I couldn’t shoot, so that was all I could do, create for my teammates,” said Cruz. “I just went up (in other aspects) because sometimes I really need it.”
Cruz had an offensive night, marking only six points and having only one of its 10 goal attempts on the ground. But this is where his veteran passed.

Even the goalkeeper of the stars CJ Perez spent a quiet evening with only eight points on 4 of the 15 shots, but the creation of Cruz’s game helped keep the Beermen on the right track.
“We all, as a team and a second unit, we intensify. Don’s (trollano) there, too, Juami (tiongson) was also intensified today with his defense,” said Cruz. “I don’t think of me. I think of the team because as a second unit, we move the ball very well. ”
Trollano was the largest beneficiary of the Generalship of Floor de Cruz, ending with 22 points.
Cruz and the Beermen return to the action against TNT Friday for match 3 in the same place.
