During a poignant visit to Newport on Tuesday, Prince William became deeply engaged in the city’s efforts to combat homelessness, particularly among vulnerable women. During his visit to the Nelson Trust, a support service operating in Wales and Bristol, the Prince of Wales met staff and people who shared their heartbreaking life experiences with him.

Among the people he spoke to was Rebecca, 32, a care worker who overcame significant challenges, including homelessness and personal tragedies, to pursue a degree in psychology. Moved by her story of resilience, William praised her strength and impact, saying: “You seem like a force of nature, Rebecca. We need more Rebeccas in the world. You have done incredibly well. I’m not sure I’d come out the other side like you.

The Prince also met with various local businesses, charities and organisations, such as Newport City Home, Newport City Council and Public Health Wales, to discuss their collaborative efforts to end female homelessness. His visit highlights the ongoing social challenges many people face and the crucial support community organizations provide to those in need.
