Popular Indian player Yuvraj Singh turned 43 today (Thursday, December 12). The legendary all-rounder enjoys great fanfare due to his record-breaking performances on the field.
Yuvraj was a gun defender and delivered with both bat and bowl during his career. The Punjab-born is a two-time World Cup winner (T20 in 2007 and ODI in 2011).
The left-hander notably won the Player of the Tournament award at the 2011 World Cup while battling cancer, becoming an inspiration to many. He was the first player to smash six sixes in the T20 World Cup (against Stuart Broad against England in 2007).
On this special occasion, Bollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh wished Yuvraj while praising him for breaking ‘boundaries’, pushing ‘limits’ and making ‘history’ in her birthday wish.

In a recent interview, Yuvraj Singh revealed that he had to wear women’s slippers due to the actions of a Bollywood actress during the 2008 Down Under tour. He told the Club Prairie Fire Podcast (via ABP):
“She was filming in Adelaide. I told him, look, let’s not meet for a moment because I’m touring Australia and I need to concentrate. She followed me to Canberra by bus. In two tests, I didn’t do many races. And I was like, “What are you doing here?” And she said to me, ‘I want to spend time with you.’
He continued:
“I told her you need to focus on your career and I focus on mine because I’m touring Australia and you know what that means. Anyway, we were flying from Canberra to Adelaide and she pack my bag.”
“In the morning I was like, ‘Where are my shoes?’ She said, ‘I packed them.’ I asked, ‘How would I get on the bus?’ And she said, ‘Wear mine She had these pink slip-ons. And I was like, “Oh my God. I had to wear these pink slip-ons and I was carrying my bag in front of my shoes to hide them. I had to wear pink slip-ons. the airport until I bought some flip-flops there.
Yuvraj Singh was recently appointed as the ICC Global Brand Ambassador for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
