Beyond the Gates Weekly Forecast: Kat gets a warning
Our first guess is that Nicole is warning Kat not to do what she’s doing. Friday spoilers for BTG Have Eva Thomas (Amber Michelle) say something controversial when Kat hears it. It’s not meant to be, I don’t think. But this upset Kat very much and she lost her temper towards Dr. Ted Richardson (Maurice Johnson). Eva tells Kat that she is now calling Ted’s dad. I’m sure she heard that. Kat was horrified and said to Ted: “Enjoy the only daughter you have, because you can’t have both of us.”
Nicole and Shanice Johnson (Ernestine Johnson) watch Kat explode and walk away from her father as they all stand in the nurses’ station at the hospital. So, last week, Ted asked Eva if she would call him Daddy, and she was happy to do so. Ted told Eva that he wanted her to be part of the holiday. He believes that bringing her to Martin Richardson (Brandon Claybon) and Bradley Smitty-Smith (Mike Manning) and spending time with them and their children is a good place to start attracting Eva to the family celebrations because they are the least angry with her.
Beyond the Expectations of the Gates: Ted and Ava grow closer
Leslie was thrilled when she heard that Ted wanted her to call their daughter “Daddy,” but it seemed that when Cat heard Eva say “Daddy,” she would explode. Kat gives Ted an ultimatum. Her or me? But I mean, that’s Sophie’s choice, right? How do you choose between your daughters? It was only fair for Kat to tell Tom Navarro (Alex Alegria) that it was her or me. That’s totally fair, but Kat has no right to do that to Ted’s other daughter.
So Nicole heard this. I think she might warn Kat that she’s not being fair, that she doesn’t have to like Eva, but the bottom line is that this is her sister. If she doesn’t want to have a sisterly relationship, that’s one thing. But nothing good will come of this ultimatum with Ted because he won’t stay away from his other daughter and it’s not fair to ask for that.
Vernon’s mysterious past: a secret meeting and a paternity mystery?
Our second guess, Vernon may be keeping a dark secret from his past. Until Monday Beyond the gates Spoilers have Vernon on a suspicious phone call and then sneaking into a secret meeting with someone who is Sharon from the Articulettes. So he will meet Sharon in secret next week. This could be completely innocent and Vernon and Sharon could be working on some surprise for Anita. But to me, it seems more elusive than that.
And I still wonder if there’s a possibility that Vernon is Leslie’s father and doesn’t know it. With Barbara Mitchell’s (Sherita Bolden) name popping up again at the Winterfest charity event, I’m still wondering if Vernon is closer to Barbara than we know. She committed suicide and gave Peaches her daughter, Leslie, to raise. And the fact that we never heard anything about who Barbara was pregnant makes me suspicious. So maybe we’ll find out more about Vernon’s past this week when he meets up with Sharon in secret.
Trouble in Paradise: Will deception end Jacob and Naomi’s marriage?
Our third prediction is that Naomi might take a break from her marriage to Jacob. So, Monday, Beyond the gates Spoilers leave Naomi frustrated and she attacks people close to her. Also on Monday, Derek was on the phone with Shanice standing when Ashley entered their apartment and freaked out. Tuesday spoilers have Jacob going to Nicole for some sort of therapeutic help. He’s upset about this kid stuff.
Other Wednesday BTG Spoilers have Ashley discovering something amazing and this has to do with the progress Derek has made. The reason I brought up the Ashley and Derek stuff is this. To give you context, Thursday spoilers say cheating on someone causes problems for a couple. I believe one of these couples is Jacob and Naomi.
If you don’t remember, both Chinis and Jacob know that Derek’s condition is improving and are keeping the secret. Jacob told Derek he didn’t like keeping this from Naomi, but Derek insisted. At the same time, Naomi is already frustrated with this pregnancy scare because it exposed the incompatibility in her marriage since Jacob really wants kids and she doesn’t. Apparently he was hoping Naomi would change her mind. This is an essential thing to have right before you get married, right?
So, with Naomi already upset and lashing out when it came out, Jacob was keeping this big secret from her about her best friend’s boyfriend and her best friend’s life really. This is a big problem. Ashley will also be upset and she and Naomi may feel very angry that the guys were lying to their faces. Naomi may see this as a point of no return and that she just needs to take a break from her marriage to think things through.
Charity Event Showdown: Leslie prepares to crash Anita’s Winter Festival
Our fourth prediction, Leslie crashes Anita’s charity event on Monday. Beyond the gates Spoilers leave Anita feeling overwhelmed. She’s planning the annual charity event and that, along with the construction noise and all the family stress, might take a toll on her. Wednesday spoilers have Nicole playing nice with Ted. So Nicole might specifically invite Ted to the charity event as he usually attends. Although they are not together and will not go together, he gave his usual gift of donating postpartum plastic surgery. I think so.
Last week when Anita was with Laura, Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley) and Nicole planning the Dupree Foundation’s Winter Festival, the topic of Leslie came up and Anita wants to focus on mental health issues and give the money raised this year to the cause. And they were talking about commemorating Barbara as part of the Winter Festival. But Laura warned Anita that Leslie might try to interfere. She might cause a stir for using her mother’s name. But Anita is undeterred and says she won’t worry about what Leslie does.
And so there’s also lunch with Articullet. This is a charity auction item. I expect Leslie to crash the event, offering a lunch date so she can spend time with her mother’s former co-workers, but I wonder if Sharon and Tracy will be as hard on Leslie as the Dubris, or if they’ll be happy to meet Barbara’s daughter. We’ll see.
Broken post? Derek’s shocking lie could cost him everything
Our fifth and final prediction. Ashley ends her engagement with Derek. Monday spoilers once again have Derek standing and talking on the phone while Ashley walks in feeling terrible. Wednesday’s spoilers have Ashley discover something startling: Derek has been moving on all along. She knew Shanice and Jacob and everyone was lying to her. Then again Thursday’s spoiler about deception causing problems for a couple and I think the second couple is Derek and Ashley.
Now, Ashley initially seemed very happy when she saw Derek on his feet because if he tried to stand up and do that, that would be one thing. But then Ashley discovered that Derek had been systematically lying to her for a long time. Ashley can’t hold her own against Chinice, but she probably will. But she couldn’t tell Ashley because of HIPAA privacy issues, even though Ashley and Chinice are co-workers.
But Ashley will be very upset that Derek lied and made Jacob lie. And I’m sure, you know, Derek is probably telling her that his big plan was to surprise her at the wedding, but I think that lie could ruin their engagement, especially if he admits his real fear that he’s going to lose her to Andre Richardson (Sean Freeman) and that Ashley is only with Derek because he’s paralyzed and she wants to take care of him as a reform project. This is going to get messy
