Tiffany Stratton will undoubtedly be in the running for WWE Superstar of the Year 2025. Former WWE writer Vince Russo praised her, but pointed out a major problem she has, which is not her fault.
In the last episode of BroDownhost Mac Davis asked Vince Russo who he thought would be the 2025 WWE Superstar of the Year. Russo said that since he doesn’t believe anyone thrived this year, the question is more about who did the most with what they were given.
After nominating Drew McIntyre and Solo Sikoa in this category, Vince Russo praised Tiffany Stratton on the women’s side and said her unnatural promos weren’t her fault because no one behind the scenes at WWE told him otherwise:
“I think Tiffany Stratton made her work hard. I think she worked really hard. But even that character and her promos – she needs someone to work with her.”
The issue seemed to be about “wrestling talk”, which is a problem that Vince Russo thinks Stratton (and other WWE stars) has. The idea of a “wrestling talk” can be described using any backstage vignette or in-ring promo where an interaction between two feuding superstars doesn’t resemble an actual argument. Instead, it feels like an unnatural and overly scripted interaction, which removes any ability to suspend one’s disbelief when watching wrestling.
Russo continued and criticized WWE for the current state of RAW and SmackDown:
“That’s all RAW and SmackDown are – it’s wrestling. Nobody stands there and says, ‘No one would ever have a conversation like that.’

Tiffany Stratton had one of the best runs in WWE in 2025
There are very few superstars in WWE who have had a year like Tiffany Stratton in 2025. For ten months, she dominated the SmackDown women’s division. There has been criticism online that for much of this title reign, Stratton only feuded with Nia Jax and Jade Cargill. Either way, the power of hindsight could work in Stratton’s favor.
Reflecting on the year Stratton had, it’s not hard to see how dominant she truly was. According to Cagematch.net, Tiffany Stratton had a 20-2 record on telecasts this year. This includes SmackDown and Premium Live events. She started the year by winning the WWE Women’s Championship on SmackDown, taking advantage of Nia Jax in what was undeniably one of the best moments of 2025.
Since then, she’s faced a variety of opponents, from veterans like Bayley and Candice LeRae to other stars like Chelsea Green, Kiana James, Piper Niven, Roxanne Perez, and more. The two biggest wins she picked up along the way were undeniably against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 41 and against Trish Stratus at Evolution 2025. Her unbeaten streak was snapped by Stephanie Vaquer, and Jade Cargill recently added to that number during Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Stratton isn’t going away anytime soon and will likely be an important player in the women’s division in the years to come, with accolades most likely following her down the years.
