The young quarterback will be under pressure to perform for the Vikings, as they will be without backup quarterback Carson Wentz for the remainder of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery this week.
The Vikings added veteran quarterback John Wolford to the practice squad after Wentz’s surgery. Undrafted rookie Max Brosmer is expected to be McCarthy’s backup for Sunday’s game.
