THE HAGUE:
Dutch far-right leader Geert Wilders published two unsubstantiated allegations of irregularities in the Dutch election on Friday, minutes after his rival Rob Jetten claimed a narrow victory for his D66 centrists.
Local agency ANP, which counts and publishes ballots, said earlier Friday that Wilders and his Freedom Party, the PVV, could not win D66 with only a handful of votes left to count.
Wilders posted a screenshot of a message on
Another screenshot showed a message claiming, also without proof, that 15 ballot boxes had gone missing in Zaanstad, near Amsterdam.
“It’s raining messages like this from all over the country,” Wilders said.
“I don’t know if it’s true or not, but it would be nice if there was an investigation.”
