Young and the Restless reveals that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) makes a dirty deal with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) this week. Victor Newman thinks he’ll finally get his hands on an artificial intelligence program so it can do some bad things. But will karma turn around and bite Victor?
We’ll talk about how Phyllis tricked Victor, and he might be in for a rude awakening.
The Young and the Restless: Phyllis makes an offer
This week, Phyllis goes out to the new farmhouse to meet Victor, telling him she has an offer he can’t refuse. Phyllis tells Victor that she stole Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) AI program and will let him have it on one condition. He cannot resist what Phyllis has to offer and agrees.
After meeting Phyllis, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea Lawson Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) go to the new farm to see Victor. He tells them they can’t tell anyone, but Phyllis got into a fight with Kane and stole the AI and showed it to him.
The Young and the Restless: Victor takes the deal
So, Victor explains to Adam and Chelsea that he will use him to take charge of Jabot, and then Phyllis will get Jabot as her payment. Victor says that’s the price she asked for, and he seems okay with giving it to Phyllis instead of destroying it. Victor says he never wanted to destroy Jabot; He just wanted to destroy Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). And Jabot losing to Phyllis would really devastate Jack. There’s no lie there.
Victor tells Adam and Chelsea that Phyllis doesn’t want to get her hands dirty, so Victor agrees to do it, which is a win-win. Naturally, Victor is happy to do so. He sees Jack miserable, and Phyllis gets what she says she wants.
Is Phyllis secretly planning a double-cross win?
However, I think she might outshine Victor. Phyllis may have a twisted blind side coming that Victor will never see. Here’s what I think might happen in the end: I think Phyllis is misleading Victor into thinking the AI program is targeting Jabot, but in reality, Phyllis may have set it up so that it’s really directed at Newman’s projects. I think Phyllis is jangling keys to distract Victor while she sneaks out to stab him in the back The young and the restless.
Phyllis may have convinced Victor that she despises Jack because he chose Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) over her and that Phyllis is also angry at Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) for choosing Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), as part of her anger that he dumped Summer Newman (Allison Lanier). There are plenty of motives for Victor to see when Phyllis makes it clear that she wants to take Jabot away to punish Jack and Kyle and mess with John Abbott’s (formerly Jerry Douglas) legacy to hurt Billy as well.
Why Phyllis’s real target is Newman Enterprises, not Jabot
The thing is, I don’t think Phyllis really wants Jabot. First of all, she knows that her daughter Summer will hate her for eating it. Summer’s company, Marchetti, is part of Jabot. Not to mention, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) would also hate Phyllis if she took over from Jabot and ruined things at Summer at Marchetti. Phyllis’ son, Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei), may also turn away from her to hurt his sister and family friends.
Plus, there’s the fact that Phyllis doesn’t actually hate Jack. She hates Diane, but their rivalry is very minor and sweet at this point. Also, I really don’t think Phyllis would take Jack’s family legacy away from him and away from Harrison Locke (Redding Maunsell), who is Phyllis’s grandson. However, Victor is another matter entirely. He’s someone Phyllis truly hates and will always hate for very good reason.
Victor is the person Phyllis really wants to destroy. And she wants revenge for a lot of things he did in the past. I believe Phyllis stole the AI from Kane with a specific plan to target Victor. Remember when Kane was telling Phyllis about the AI program and its plans to take over everything in Genoa City? From the beginning, she told Kane that she wanted to crush Newman, take her over, and wanted Victor to work with her. She wanted to see him crawl. I don’t see Phyllis doing a 180 on this and deciding to crush Jack instead.
Ingenious Deception : Using the Abbotts to distract Victor
I think Phyllis went to Victor and told him that she stole the AI for several reasons. First, Phyllis knows that Victor will find out anyway. Genoa City is a small city, and news has spread that Kane has lost control of the AI. I mean, she just stole it, and Jack and Diane already know that thanks to Ken. This is part of the reason why Phyllis became so close to Victor. She came to him to make a deal and make him think he got something good out of her, and then pays Phyllis off with something Victor doesn’t consider valuable, a jabot. I think this is all part of a conspiracy.
I think Ken was in Phyllis’ best interest because Ken did what Phyllis expected, and ran to Jack and Diane to warn them. So, Victor will see Jabot’s reaction, and he’ll think Phyllis is actually doing it, which is why the Abbotts are scrambling. They restore their defenses, but Victor might assume it’s because the attack already happened.
Plus, with Jack calling Billy to come to the mansion and then Jack calling Kyle saying he needs to leave Los Angeles and get home as quickly as possible, this will further prove that. He’ll think, “Oh, Phyllis is really doing this thing.” So, Victor will see the Abbotts terrified and worried that Jabot is about to seize power. He will see Jack, Billy, Diane, and Kyle all on the defensive.
Trojan Horse: How Phyllis plans to take down Newman
Victor’s guard will be down because he’ll be too busy thinking about how great it will be when he finally destroys Jack, and Victor may not notice the Trojan he’s let into his life. Because don’t forget, Phyllis is supposed to be a master hacker. She stole the AI, and I’m sure she can use it and even modify it.
The thing is, it’s actually set up to be used in a very strange way. To Victor, it should appear that the program is targeting Jabot, but perhaps he is dismantling Newman’s projects instead. If you remember, Ken had a built-in AI backdoor. Kane was going to let Billy use AI and do his dirty work and target businesses in Genoa City. But Ken said that he would be the one to secretly control the AI, and Billy would only think he was in control.
I think Phyllis does the same thing. I think it picks up where Kane left off, and it leaves Victor thinking he’s in the driver’s seat, but it’s really Phyllis, thanks to that back door that Kane programmed to use himself.
Let’s be real, it’s long overdue for Phyllis to win, and long overdue for Victor to get retribution. And if Phyllis beats him, oh my God, Victor is going to lose him. It would be completely insulting. You know everyone in Genoa City would have a good laugh if Phyllis beats Victor. So, yeah, everyone might be a big fan of Phyllis. I think it would be nice to see Victor knocked down some pegs, thanks to Phyllis. So, fingers crossed.
