The golf world has reacted to the news of the tragic death of Cody ‘Beef’ Franke. The Barstool Sports member died over the weekend due to sudden medical issues. He was known for his golf-related Internet content.
Fore Play shared the news of Franke’s devastating loss on their X account (formerly Twitter). They shared a photo of the golf influencer along with a caption in which they paid tribute to him. They wrote:
“We are beyond devastated to announce that our good friend and dear colleague at Barstool Sports, Cody “Beef” Franke, passed away due to a sudden medical issue over the weekend.”
Fans jumped into the comments section to pay tribute to Cody ‘Beef’ Franke. Golf reporter Dan Rapaport also joined the comments section. He wrote:
“Beyond horrible. He lit up a room with his kindness. RIP”

Cody ‘Beef’ Franke shared ‘Tuesday’ golf tips on social media days before his disappearance
Cody ‘Beef’ Franke was very active on his Instagram account, where he was known for sharing golf-related content. He often posted videos helping golfers improve their game.
His latest video on Instagram was shared last Tuesday. Sharing the video, he wrote in the caption:
“Tuesday’s tip is here!! Not every pin location is a green light! Know when to attack and when to brake. @foreplaypod”
Cody ‘Beef’ Franke was very active on Instagram, where he has around 44.8k followers. He died at the age of 31.
He first worked at the PGA of America professional golf club for nearly a decade. However, last year he joined the Fore Play Golf podcast as head golf professional. He has since gained popularity on social media and was known for sharing golf tips on Tuesdays on Instagram.
Franke started playing golf at a young age with his brother Craig and worked at Desert Willow Golf Resort before joining Barstool.
