San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle returned to action in their 20-10 win over the Atalanta Falcon. It was Kittle’s first game since injuring his hamstring in his season opener.
While Kittle recovered from his setback and returned for the Week 7 clash, San Francisco will be without linebacker Fred Warner after his season-ending ankle injury week.
Despite his injury, Warner was at the game and was seen rallying fans every time it was broadcast on the jumbotron. Kittle reflected on his teammate’s antics, playfully calling him out after the game.

“He’s the king of aura farming,” Kittle said. “How about Fred Warner goes on the scoreboard, and we almost have to do a silent count because we couldn’t hear the play call. Even though Fred Warner is selfish. Damn.”

Warner suffered a dislocated and broken ankle during San Francisco’s Week 6 clash against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Despite his absence, the 49ers overcame a stubborn Falcons defense to earn their fifth win of the season.
George Kittle sarcastically lashes out at coach Kyle Shanahan after winning comeback
Although the return of George Kittle is a big boost for a team ravaged by injuries, the veteran tight end looked sluggish in his return. He finished the game without a catch, breaking a streak of 114 consecutive games for the tight end.
After the match, he issued a sarcastic apology to the fans.
“You know, personally, I thought with yesterday’s walkthrough-based game plan, I thought I was going to have 150 yards and two touchdowns. So, sorry Fantasy coaches and anyone who bet on me, it’s my fault. Blame Kyle Shanahan and not me,” Kittle said.
The 49ers offense thrived on the running game of Christian McCaffrey who completed seven catches and had 24 carries for 129 yards and two touchdowns.
While San Francisco’s defense held strong in the second half for the victory, it will be interesting to see how they fare with Fred Warner and Nick Bosa for the remainder of the season.
