General Hospital It sends Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) reeling and truly fearful that Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) will be arrested for the shooting. She is desperate to save him, no matter what, even if Carly has to sacrifice herself to make it happen.
General Hospital: Carly’s desperate plan to save Michael
The investigation into the shooting death of Drew Cain Quartermaine (Cameron Matheson) is gathering momentum. Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and the cops search for the murder weapon. They didn’t find him at Q’s, but they will find him this week. He’ll appear somewhere Michael has been lurking, somewhere he’s never seen him before. This makes her very suspicious.
Laura Wright drops a hint on GH
Recently, Karlie’s actress, Laura Wright, gave an interview, I think it was soap summary, Where she was talking about the series “Who Shot Drew?” story. Laura Wright said that as of now, Carly is very worried that Michael will go down for trying to kill Drew, and it’s not just that Carly is trying to protect Michael. The thing is, she said that Carly already suspected that Michaelen might have actually shot Drew. Of course, Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliott) also suspects this, and is happy to cover for Michael too because she can’t stand Drew.
So, now, Carly knows that Michael isn’t telling her everything about the night of the shooting. He was behaving suspiciously. He has a call girl as his alibi – so many suspicious things. So, yeah, Carly thinks there’s a chance he shot Drew. And I mean, she definitely knows that Michael has a motive after what Drew did to Willow Tate (Caitlin McMullen), and all that. And just sleep with Willow.
General Hospital: Carly’s fear of Michael will be framed
Also, if Carly knew that Tracy had spotted Michael outside Drew’s house the night he was shot, oh my God, Carly would be five times as worried as she is. She is very afraid of Michael going to prison and does not want that for him. If you remember, he spent time in Bentonville years ago after he killed his stepmother, Claudia Zacchara (Sarah Joy Brown). Michael had already been traumatized while in Bentonville. He was raped in prison. It was terrible. That’s the last thing Carly wants for her son.
GH: Laura Wright on Carly’s potential sacrifice
So, Laura Wright said in the interview: “Carly will do everything in her power to prevent this from happening.” She says Carly is determined to make sure Michael is protected, whatever she has to do to make that happen. “Even if her character had to take the blame herself, she would do it to save Michael,” Laura Wright said.
We already kind of suspected that Carly was going to sacrifice herself even before we saw this interview. After we saw her final conversation with Anna, Carly was telling Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) that she felt like she said the wrong thing. Carly thinks she may have somehow put Michael on the PCPD’s radar. This really scares her.
This week Anna got another search warrant and searched Elizabeth Webber’s (Rebecca Herbst) home. This is where the murder weapon was found. Willow’s alibi falls apart because they had Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) on camera at her apartment at the same time she claimed to have gone out with Willow.
The collapse of her alibi may be what enables Anna to obtain a warrant to search the place where Willow is staying. It was like, how are they going to end up there with a warrant? Well, obviously that’s the way. If Nina had kept her mouth shut, none of this would have happened. It’s funny because Willow thought Nina was trying to make an excuse for herself when she had one.
General Hospital: The discovery of the weapon raises red flags
They will find the gun, but I don’t think the fingerprints on the gun that Anna found will match Willow’s because I don’t think she did. Michael left the Quartermaines area while the cops rushed to get the search warrant and return to search Q’s house.
He showed up at Liz’s house suddenly, as if to evade inspection. Not that he was required to be there, but that was another thing that kind of made them wonder. Michael was there at home alone when Willow showed up. She might tell Anna that Michael was there.
Carly takes action to protect Michael
Anna will bring Liz to the station for questioning. She might tell Anna that Carly and Michael were suddenly at her house. Once Carly heard that the gun was found at Liz’s and that Michael was there offering to let Willow Tait see the kids, Carly might panic.
It’s doubtful that Michael would suddenly be in a place he’s never been, offering something highly unlikely: a visit from Willow. This occurred when the PCPD Sheriff had to leave and before they returned to serve the corrected arrest warrant.
GH: Carly’s past sacrifices and legal strategy
If Anna determines that the gun was planted on Liz, that puts Carly and Michael on the PCPD’s radar. If Carly sees the walls closing in on Michael, I definitely think we’ll see Carly take action to turn the cops’ attention toward herself and away from Michael.
Carly might actually make herself look guilty. She’s already a suspect. She threatened to kill Drew. Also, Drew once sacrificed himself for Carly. You guys remember that Drew went to prison instead of Carly during the insider trading case with the SEC with Nina.

General Hospital: Drew’s motivations and Carly’s unwavering love
Carly might be thinking to herself that if Drew, who is his dirtbag, is able to make that kind of sacrifice for her, then Carly will be a terrible mother if she doesn’t make the same sacrifice for her son. She might do to Michael what Drew did to her. Carly knows that Donna Corinthos (Scarlett Spears) will have Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). She is old enough to understand if her mother is going to prison. Josslyn Jax (Eden McCoy) has grown, Michael has grown, and they can take care of themselves.
Carly may also think she won’t spend much time behind bars General Hospital. You’d think Brennan might pull some WSB strings for her. Carly likes Brennan to do her services. Additionally, Carly has Diane Miller (Caroline Hennessy) as her lawyer. So, Carly may think she’ll be in and out of Bentonville in no time because it’s a crime of passion, while Michael may have a hard time because he’s killed someone before in a fit of rage. Although, to be fair, he was protecting Carly at the time. And Claudia was really coming.
Drew is determined to frame Michael on GH
We all know Drew wants Michael to take responsibility for shooting him. What’s really weird is that Drew doesn’t seem interested in finding the real shooter. If they came back to finish Drew, it would be like he wanted Michael behind bars so bad. Willow will get her kids back and hopefully come back to live with him.
But Drew hates Carly, so he might be happy to see her go to prison instead because that would devastate Michael. Additionally, Drew may believe that Carly is the shooter and Michael is a suspect who could still help Willow get custody of Wiley Quartermaine Corinthos (Veron Weaver) and Amelia Grace Corinthos (Sequoia and Serenity Mork Mako).
Carly’s downfall may still please Drew. Being in Congress, he might use his influence to get her a longer prison sentence and to make sure Carly serves her full sentence. Michael would hate for Carly to do this, but she wouldn’t care. She would do absolutely anything for her children and wouldn’t let Michael spend a single minute in prison if she could help it.
