The agents of the American border patrol deployed in Chicago led a raid at the end of the evening in an apartment building this week, as a reminder of helicopters on the roofs and by decomposing doors in an operation of the authorities declared that members of targeted gangs but who swept the citizens and the American families.
The show of force underlined the unprecedented use by President Donald Trump agents of border patrol as a force of overvoltage in major cities, reducing staff who would normally be responsible for keeping American borders in Mexico and Canada.
Naudlys, a 19 -year -old Venezuelan woman, says she was in her apartment with her 4 -year -old son and another couple with a baby when agents overthrew their door during the raid early on Tuesday. The agents told them to put their hands and point to arms on them, she said.
Naudlys, whose husband was arrested and held by the immigration authorities three months ago, said she tried to record the premises, but an agent eliminated her phone.
Spanish-speaking agents told them to return to their country and have made a sexualized remark on Venezuelan women, she said. One of the agents struck a man in front of his son, and he begged him to stop, she said.

“My son was traumatized,” said Naudlys, who asked his last name to be refused.
She said that the authorities alleged that her friend’s partner was a member of the Venezuelan gang Tren of Aragua, which she challenges.
The American Department of Internal Security, which includes the border patrol, did not immediately respond to a request for comments on the Naudlys du Raid account.
As part of the RAID, some American citizens were temporarily detained and the children drew from their bed, according to interviews with residents and reports. The construction corridors were still strewn with debris two days later.
Trump, a Republican, has promised to degenerate the application of immigration to Chicago and other democratic bastions that limit cooperation with federal operations. The border patrol – endowed with some 19,000 agents and less pressure with the apprehensions of borders at historic stockings – has increasingly assumed a new role in major cities, led by Gregory Bovino, agency commander.
The incident in the southern district of the city, which, according to the authorities, led dozens of arrests, was one of the most prominent immigration actions in Chicago since the launch of the Trump administration “Operation Midway Blitz” in the city last month.
Hundreds of agents invaded the building, open a new tab during the raid on Tuesday, including a reminder to the roof of the Black Hawk helicopters, according to Newsnation.
The agents took their parents’ children
A spokesperson for the DHS confirmed the operation, saying that it focused on alleged members of Tren of Aragua and that the border agents had joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Authorities arrested at least 37 people for violation of immigration, most of whom were Venezuelan, said the spokesman.
The spokesman said two people arrested were alleged members of Tren from Aragua. The ministry identified six people with criminal history, ranging from battery to marijuana and said two people were suspected of being involved in a shooting.
The spokesman refused to say if the agents had mandates to enter the houses, saying that because Tren de Aragua has been qualified as terrorist organization “there are sensitivities on what we can provide without endangering people.”
“This operation was carried out in full compliance with the law,” said the spokesperson.
Four children American citizens were withdrawn from their parents during the raid because the parents lacked legal status, said DHS, alleging that one of the parents was a member of Tren of Aragua.
“These children were placed in police custody until they can be warned of a tutor safely or in the state,” said the spokesperson.
Naudlys said that the authorities released her and her son later because she had a long -standing case. Her apartment was on his return, she said. The workers opened it for her, but her property had disappeared, she said.
Cassandra Murray, 55, a resident, said he heard noisy explosions while the raids occurred.
She said her Venezuelan neighbors arrived about two years ago. At the time, thousands of Venezuelans who had recently crossed the American-Mexican border were in bus to Chicago and other cities by the State of Texas.
“They never made us feel dangerous,” said Murray. “They also needed a place to live.”
A resident, who asked not to be appointed, said he was lying on the ground by agents during the raid and having his hands linked to the zipper.
Gil Kerlikowske, who was the customs commissioner and the protection of American border from 2014 to 2017 and a former Seattle police chief, said that border workers have different training and protocols from the local police and worries more aggressive tactics could erode confidence.
“The police of an urban environment is completely, completely different,” he said.
American immigration and customs officers were also examined by the use of tear gas against the demonstrators in one of his chicago facilities and the deadly shooting of a Mexican man.
‘We are not going anywhere’
In Los Angeles during the summer, the border patrol agents carried out immigration swings in the parking lots of Home Depot and other public spaces which contributed to the decision of a federal judge to block the racial manifest profiling in the region. In September, the Supreme Court shaved with the Trump administration, allowing it to resume tactics.
Bovino, who supervised the operation, arrived in Chicago several weeks ago. He frequently publishes social media on the work of his agency, often in impetuous terms.
“We are here, Chicago, and we are not going anywhere,” said Bovinosaid on X last month, opens a new tab next to a video of the arrest of a man whom he said to be a member of the Venezuelan gang in a parking lot of Home Depot, edited in a song by rapper Travis Scott.
This week’s viral video has shown masked and armed agents of the border patrol to pursue a man on an electric bicycle in downtown Chicago after having tagged them and said that he was not an American citizen.
Illinois governor JB Pritzker, a democrat, criticized the deployment of armed agents of the border patrol and other members of the city staff, the appellant “authoritarianism” during a press conference on Monday.
“Gregory Bovino led the disturbance and caused chaos while he is happyly posing for photo sessions and Tiktok videos,” he said.
