CITI launches the platform for addressing individual events in North America

Citi Investor Services has introduced the technology of addressing individual events (SEP), which is actual time to process transactions and improve efficiency, in North America. This platform, which has already been unveiled in some European markets, allows all transactions of all global asset transactions, where most of the custody flows in Citi Sep are expected to be used by 2026.

SEP unifies the infrastructure of CITI global nursery, as its wide network is smoothly integrating across more than 100 markets, including private direct nursery in more than 63 markets, on one platform for customers.

“Whether it is the local or global class, Sep requires only one processing event,” says Aminit Agarwal, Citi Investor Services, with a highlight of SEP. “In this process, you can take out all the frictions that fit today in the nursery chain.”

Sep accelerates the main processes significantly: It takes less than 45 minutes now, low from 13-36 hours, and complements the process of payment in less than five minutes, compared to the previous seven hours.

“These developments are more than just significant improvements, they offer a significant reinforcement of our customer experience,” Agarwal added.

Traditional, partial and slow handicraft service operations exceeded asset service, Sep enables customers with actual time to make decisions in time, more intelligent and better. These enhanced competencies and low delays lead to more access to money and improving accuracy, as they eliminate duplication, issues and reconciliation. Moreover, SEP facilitates tightening the timers of education, including cutting operations on the same day.

After its initial introduction in the selected European markets and cooperation with the central securities international warehouses, Citi is now expanding the Sep range worldwide. This technology is currently published in North America, and it is scheduled to be expanded across the rest of the Citi’s Custody network by 2026.
