Trump promises an annexation of the West Bank by Israel will not occur

US President Donald Trump said Thursday that he would not allow Israel to annex the West Bank, rejecting the calls of certain far -right politicians in Israel who wish to extend sovereignty over the region and stifle the hopes of a Palestinian state.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has faced allied pressure to annex the West Bank, which made the alarm among the Arab leaders, some of whom met Tuesday with Trump on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
