President Donald Trump said on Monday that India had proposed to reduce its prices on American products to zero, even though Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was making public solidarity shows with Chinese and Russian leaders in the Washington trade pressure.
While calling the American relationship with “unilateral” India, Trump wrote on his social platform Truth: “They have now proposed to cut their prices to nothing, but it is done late. They should have done it years ago.”
The Indian Embassy in Washington did not immediately respond to Trump’s comments, which follow the implementation of total tasks up to 50% on Indian goods that have raised questions about the future of the American relationship.

Trump’s remark came while Moda was in China for a summit of more than 20 leaders from non -Western countries of the Shanghai cooperation organization, an initiative supported by China given an impetus renewed by the global tariff offensive of Trump.
At the top, Chinese President Xi Jinping has pressed his vision of new world security and economic order which prioritizes the “world South”, in a direct challenge for the United States.
The American-Indian relationship has been strengthened in recent years, especially during Trump’s first term, given the shared concerns concerning China’s growing power, but Trump threatened the prices on India after refusing to stop buying Russian oil in defiance of his efforts to end the Moscow war in Ukraine.

In China, in an image designed to transmit solidarity, Putin and Modi showed his hand while they were jovially walking around XI before the opening of the summit. The three men stood shoulder shoulder, laughing and surrounded by performers.
Beijing used the summit to repair links with New Delhi. Modi, visiting China for the first time in seven years, and Xi agreed that on Sunday, their countries are development partners, not rivals, and discussed means of improving trade.
The American State Department and the White House did not immediately respond to requests for comments on meetings in China.
