The first lady of Turkiye, Emine Erdoğan, expressed great concern about the devastating floods in Pakistan and urged the international community to provide immediate support to the victims.

In a message published on the social media platform X, Erdoğan said that she had personally witnessed the fate of families affected by the floods during her trip to Pakistan 14 years ago in 2010.

“At that time, Turkiye was among the First Nations to reach out to Pakistan,” she wrote. “Today, the prayers, the hearts and the help of the Turkish people are again with Pakistan and its people.”

She said that the Turkish Red Crescent (Kızılay) closely monitored the situation in the affected areas and worked to provide urgent assistance, including health care, shelter, food and water.

Offering prayers to those who lost their lives in the disaster, Erdoğan wished a rapid recovery for the wounded. She also called on the world community to stand in Pakistan in these difficult days.

“I hope that the spirit of solidarity and compassion will help heal the injuries of the victims,” ​​she added.

Earlier Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a phone call from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who expressed condolences on loss of life and general destruction caused by recent floods in Pakistan.

Erdogan transmitted the solidarity of Turkiye with the inhabitants of Pakistan during this difficult period and offered full assistance in the current rescue and rescue efforts. He reaffirmed that Turkey is firmly being held by Pakistan in times of crisis and is ready to provide full support.

Prime Minister Shehbaz thanked the Turkish president for his gesture, calling the conversation to reflect long -standing fraternal ties between the two nations. He noted that Pakistan and Turkiye have always supported themselves if necessary.

The two leaders also examined progress in strengthening strategic and economic cooperation between their country. They agreed to maintain close consultations and plan to meet on the sidelines of the next summit of leaders of the Shanghai cooperation organization in Tianjin, China.
