Manila, Philippines – Saint-Benilde did a quick job from the University of Batangas, 25-8, 25-17, 25-15, for a start in the national leg of Batangas de la Super League (SSL) in Batangas 2025 at the Millennium Gym of the University of Batangas.
Rhea Densing conducted the Lady Blazers while the four title champions of the NCAA took advantage of their experience and their firepower to dominate the Lady Brahmans at the Luzon stop of the tournament.
Benilde was in full control from the opening service, crying 36 striking attacks while frustrating UB strikers with his solid net defense to mark nine killing blocks.
The densage finished with 12 points, built on 10 striking attacks and two blocks for the Lady Blazers.

The intermediate blocker Zamantha Nolasco scored four of his 11 points in Kill Blocks and Shahanna Lleses added 10 points for St Benilde before a revenge match against the Rival Letran on Saturday.
“The players are in good shape because they came from another league, so their packaging is still there,” said Deputy Coach of Lady Blazers, Onyok Getigan, who marked the head coach Jerry Yee.
With the Lady Blazers, the starters building solid tracks in each set, Getigan was able to turn among the players of the bench.
“I told the girls to continue to do what they do, we could slowly submit recruits.
Benilde was afraid in the third set after UB closed, 19-15, but was quick to restore the order with a 6-0 fence race capped by innocent fionna strokes.
Riza Drice was Brahmane’s only player to finish two figures with 10 points in eight attacks and two AS. Kylie Macatangay and Stephanie Almaria had four and three markers respectively.
UB lost the open jaime Bacolod striker after walking the right ankle in the second set after an awkward landing of a jump service.
Meanwhile, the Far Eastern University repressed a third set uprising by Letran for a 25-13, 25-17, 25-21.
The team captain and the main sector of the Ubaldo tin ruled with his veteran presence to repel the response of the Lady Knights and ensure a victory of the opening day.
“We follow a system, but the adjustments in play really depend on the players,” said Lady Tamaraws head coach Tina Salak. “We took a good start, but we were a little offset in the third set due to the mixture of players on the field.”
Clarisse Loresoco led the balanced fire scoring while the Alas Pilipinas member finished 11 points when he returned to his natural position as an intermediate blocker.
LoreSCO, who plays in front of Spiker with the national team, hammered seven points, three killing blocks and an AS.
Faida Bakanke obtained 10 points while IA David, Alyzza Devosora and Gerzel Petallo scored five each. Ubaldo collected eight excellent sets in only two series of action on the bench for Lady Tamaraws, which will fight the University of Batangas afterwards.
Letran reduced the fire advance in five points in the closing section of the third set to only two, 23-21, after a stroke of Verenicce Colendra.
David countered with a killing before Colendra packed the last of the 21 errors of the Lady Knights to hand over last year, the victory.

Colendra and Gia Maquilang finished with 10 each for Letran, who will face the NCAA Rival College of Saint Benilde on day 2.
