Prince William and Princess Kate joined the fans to congratulate Taylor Swift after the pop star revealed his engagement to the NFL Travis Kelce player on Instagram on Tuesday. The couple “liked” the post showing that Kelce offering Swift after two years of meetings, alongside photos of the embracing couple.
The royal observation on social networks comes a few days after William and Kate attended the Kirk Crathie church with their three children during their annual stay in Balmoral with King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
William, 43, met Swift, 35, in person on several occasions. Last summer, he took Prince George, 12, and Princess Charlotte, 10, at the TWIFT eras tour at the Wembley stadium, where they took a selfie behind the scenes with the singer.
Speaking of the meeting, the Swift team described Charlotte as “adorable” and George as “brilliant”, praising the commitment of royal children in the conversation. Travis Kelce said he appreciated parents encouraging their children to take the lead in interactions.
The Prince of Wales met Swift for the first time in 2013 during a charitable event at the Kensington Palace, where she brought him on stage to sing “Livin ‘on a Prayer” with Jon Bon Jovi. By reflecting on the experience in 2021, William admitted that he was nervous on stage despite his comfort with public appearances, calling him an exercise in leaving his comfort zone.
