FBI agents searched the home of John Bolton, a former adviser to the American president, Donald Trump, who became a persistent critic, on Friday as part of a national security investigation, said an informed source of the case.

The federal agents of the investigation office began to search his house in the suburbs of Washington in Bethesda, Maryland, at 7 am as part of an investigation commissioned by FBI director, Kash Patel, according to the New York Post, which first reported the RAID.

An FBI spokesperson confirmed “the activity authorized by the court” in the Bolton domicile district.

“No one is above the law … @fbi agents on mission,” wrote Patel, without mentioning Bolton, in a post soon after 7 am

Bolton could not be joined immediately to comment. CNN said he said he was not aware of the law application of the law and that he was examining later.

Bolton was an American ambassador to the United Nations and as a national security advisor to the White House during Trump’s first term. He has since become a critic of the Republican President, calling him to serve and write a scathing book on his stay in Trump’s first administration.

Trump has stopped several times to handle the levers of presidential power against his enemies perceived since his entry into office in January, following his promise as a political remote motorhome.

It was not immediately clear why the FBI searched the property. The Ministry of Justice during Trump’s first mandate continued and launched a criminal investigation into Bolton for allegations according to which the book, “the room where it occurred: a memory of the White House” contained classified information.

A judge rejected the administration’s offer to block the publication of the book in 2020. Research in criminal investigation and in court was abandoned in 2021 during the Biden administration.

The president previously stripped Bolton details of the details of the protection of the secret services which had been assigned after the United States Ministry of Justice said that Iran had threatened its life.

Bolton has continued his criticism of Trump since his return to functions. After Trump’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska last week, Bolton told CNN that Putin “had clearly won” the summit and that Trump “had not lost” he looked “very tired” and that there was no significant progress to end the war in Ukraine.

Bolton also criticized the director of the FBI nominated at Trump, Kash Patel, saying to “Meet the Press” of NBC in December that the Senate should reject his appointment “100-0”. Patel was confirmed later.
