The Gilas Pilipinas campaign during the FIBA 2025 Asia Cup ended after being beaten by Australia, 84-60, during its quarter-final match on King Abdullah Sports City in Djeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The Philippines had no answers to Australia’s scorching shooting to start the game, which set the tone at the unbalanced exit which wrapped what was a roller coaster for the boys of the coach Tim cone.

Australia connected to seven of its 11 triples in the first quarter from an advance of 29-12 that Gilas never recovered.
Jaylin Galloway, Xavier Cooks and Owen Foxwell gave most of the damage while the boomers qualified in the semi-finals after extending their undefeated record since their start in the continental tournament in 2017 with a 16th consecutive victory.
Galloway and Foxwell scored 15 points each while Cooks proved to be a problem for Gilas with its activity at both ends, finishing with 10 points, seven rebounds and two assists.

Kevin Quiambao and Dwight Ramos were among the rare, if not the only ones, the light points because Gilas could not reproduce the determined stand that he has surmounted by Saudi Arabia in the qualification game for the quarter -finals.

Justin Brownlee, whose three -point clutch has forced overtime against Saudi Arabia, was held in check by the Australian defense and finished with 10 out of 7 points on the field.
Australia jumped at a start of 13-4 while Galloway connected on three triple before extending the gap to 24-8 during the same period.
The boomers would lead 48-28 at halftime and were up 26 in the second period.
