Zianbeau Edoc strengthened his candidacy for a final berth with an effort of compound fronts and a strong closing section, closing with consecutive birdies to recover a 71 subparameter 71 and seize the head of the 11-14 division for boys from the Junior PGT ICTSI Pradera Verde Verdera Verdera Championship on Tuesday.
Edoc’s late push came while the Manhit race, which had led for most of the day in scorching conditions during the Pinatubo course of the vast pradera Verde Golf and Country Club, stumbled with a last holes bogy to make a 74.

The exciting finish crowned a day race for control of the 36-hole tournament, the penultimate leg of the seven-story Luzon series where precious ranking points necessary to qualify for the junior final of the north against the south, scheduled from October 7 to 10 at the Country Club of Laguna are underway.
Despite the first four legs, Edoc, ranked seventh, remains mathematically in the race for a top 4, after having marked his debut at the JPGT with a dominant victory against Casuga in Riviera two weeks ago, worth 15 points. Another victory for this week would considerably strengthen his round of finals heading for the last stage of the John Hay camp in Baguio next week.

However, he will have to retain solid contenders during the last Tour on Wednesday. The sarins, Casuga and Manhit, classified second in the fourth behind the precursor Ryuji Suzuki, should all set up a final charge in what promises to be a downward finish among the rising stars of the Philippine Golf.
“I was doing nothing too much – just a simple golf course,” said Edoc, 13. “I was just lucky with these late birdies.”
While dragging manhit entering the final holes, Edoc has kept his goal. “I didn’t care about other players’ scores. They are really fun to play with it, but I just focused on my game,” he added.
The Sarin twins, on the other hand, continue to dominate the girls’ division 11-14, with a cutting of 71 to go to Sister Lisa with a blow. The duo aims to consolidate their 1-2 classification and to formalize their passage in the final.

Mavis Espedido, on the other hand, extended his incredible race in the girls’ division 7-10 with a 70, moving to a striking distance from a fourth consecutive victory in the 36-hole tournament.
Opening with three consecutive birdies, Espedido turned a turn of 34-36 and built a four-stroke cushion on Ronee Dungca.
“This is the first time that I have played here in Pinatubo, and it’s an incredible experience,” said Espedido, who trains in Anvaya Cove. “I felt relaxed after these birdies. They strengthened my confidence. “
Meanwhile, in the first-rate category 15-18, set over 54 holes, Zachary Villaroman fled with a birdie the ninth to save a 73 and take an advance suddenly on Jose Carlos Taruc, who closed with three birdies in the last four holes.
Nathan Belandres and Kristofer Nadales shared third with the 80s, while Alonso Esparttero, Andres Fabie and Rodrigo Lim fought in the heat with cycles of 85, 86 and 87, respectively.
