Manila, Philippines-The women’s football team Philippine suffered a hard blow for defending the title after absorbing a 1-0 defeat against the Australia U-23 team on Sunday at the ASEAN Women’s Championship at Viet Tri Stadium in Phu Tho, Vietnam.
The objective of Alana Jancevski near the half-time for the Australians turned out to be the difference because the Philippins received a spicy defeat which also put their chances of making the semi-finals in danger.

The safeguards of goalkeeper Olivia McDaniel in the second half helped keep the scoring intact, but an equalizer escaped the 2022 champions to the final whistle.
The reverse now pushes the team of coach Mark Torcaso on the edge of Wednesday in the last group match against Myanmar at the Lach Tray Stadium in Haiphong while Australia will remain in Phu Tho to face the Timor-Leste the same day.
Myanmar took the lead in group B at six points after beating Timor-Leste, 3-0, while Australia went to the second row despite even with the Philippines at three points each due to the tie equality.

The two best teams after the group phase will go to the semi-finals with Thailand and the host of Vietnam, both of which obtained their places from Group A.
Jancevski proposed the possible winner at the first minute of the time added in the first half, drawing a low left foot attempt which beat McDaniel on the distant post, putting the Matildas U-23 in front.
Perhaps the best chance of the Philippins to link the count was a Hali’s head for a long time with a corner, only to be stopped by the goalkeeper of Australia ChloĆ© Lincoln.
