Kevin Quiambao of Gilas Pilipinas was a silver lining in a loss of Chinese taipei in the fiba asia cup.
Manila, Philippines – It is not easy to look for a silver lining in a loss, but the coach of Gilas Pilipinas Tim Cone saw one in the form of Kevin Quiambao.
Gilas abandoned his first assignment in the Asian Cup of the FIBA 2025 in the hands of Chinese Taipei, 95-87, but not without an exemplary performance of Quiambao which certainly did not go unnoticed.

“He went out and played with a lot of energy and struck big blows for us,” said Cone on Wednesday morning (Manila time) at King Abdullah Sports City in Djeddah, Saudi Arabia.
“Regarding the way Kevin played, he played very well. He was the highlight of the team.”
In 16 minutes on the bench, Quiambao collected 17 points on an effective 60% shooting on the field, four rebounds and two assists.
His efforts, however, were not sufficient for Gilas, who had a hard time facing the hot shot of Taipei.
