The tornado adds to an extreme wave of time that sweeps away China this summer, while the authorities increase efforts to strengthen flood defenses, improve forecasting systems and improve emergency responses in the middle of the monsoon season and stronger precipitation forecasts.
Earlier this week, Beijing placed the 16 districts at the highest level of alert after the sudden floods made at least 44 lives. Emergency services remain pending, as forecasts warn against other showers threatening large parts of the country.
In the middle of the worsening of weather conditions, a video of eye witnesses captured the dramatic moment that a tornado touched near a geopark in inner Mongolia. The swirling vortex has sent flying debris and attracted spectators’ dressings.
No injury or death has been reported, according to the state media.
