Tel Aviv:
American envoy Steve Witkoff met with anxious parents of Israeli hostages who always stood in Gaza on Saturday, while fears for the survival of captives rose almost 22 months after the war triggered by the October 2023 attack in Hamas.
Witkoff was greeted by applause and pleas for the help of hundreds of demonstrators gathered in Tel Aviv, before participating in a closed meeting with families.
The hostage and missing families forum confirmed that the meeting was underway and the online shared videos showed that Witkoff arrived while families chant “them at home!” And “we need your help.”
The visit occurred one day after Witkoff visited a rescue post supported by the United States in Gaza, to inspect efforts to integrate food into the devastated Palestinian territory. AFP
