The former F1 driver and expert Anthony Davidson said that the age of the Ferrari Lewis Hamilton pilot had been a factor in his disappointing passage with the Italian team in the first half of the 2025 season. The seven time F1 world champion had trouble pulling the maximum of SF-25 and played the second violin of his teammate Charles Leclerc.
When he moved to Maranello, many had planned that he could fight for a world championship with the team. However, reality contrasts with expectations at the start of the season, because it has not yet started on a podium after 13 races.

“I don’t mind saying it because it is the elephant in the room, and I am there myself as a driver: age is a factor. As an aged Athlete, everything that someone says, even himself or those involved with Lewis, they do not understand where I come from. But I lived it and I breathed it as an art.
He also underlined Hamilton’s ability to sparkle the current generation of cars and added:
“For me, Lewis has never been the same driver since he saw the regulations in 2022. He had to work harder than ever to rework his style, which he did several times before in F1. The cars have changed a lot since the V8 that he led for the first time. ”
Lewis Hamilton has only scored two racing victories since the start of the 2022 season and was exhaustive by his teammates George Russell and Charles Leclerc in the current era of cars.
