New York – Mikal Bridges accepted an extension of $ 150 million over four years with the New York Knicks on Thursday, a person who knew the details said.
The person confirmed the agreement to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they had not been announced. It was reported for the first time by ESPN.

The Knicks granted five first -round choices to acquire bridges last June and he rewarded them by taking less than he could have won in the future with the former teammates of Villanova Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart.
The bridges could have won $ 156 million in this extension, or even more while waiting for his contract to expire next summer. Instead, he concluded the agreement which could allow the Knicks a future flexibility to continue to build a team that reached the final of the Eastern Conference last season for the first time since 2000.
Bridges made some huge defensive games when the Knicks launched the NBA champion in 2024, Boston in the second round.
The Knicks asked for these defensive capacities and its availability to play each game which is unequaled among the current NBA players when they exchanged the huge package of choices to acquire bridges of Brooklyn Nets last summer.

Bridges played every game – as he did with each NBA season – and collected on average 17.6 points. The Iron Man of the NBA has also played in each match at the university before appearing in the 556 since its entry into the NBA as a first round choice in 2018.
He helped Phoenix to reach the NBA final in 2021 and was a finalist for the defensive player of the year the following season, before being treated in Brooklyn at the 2023 commercial deadline as part of the Kevin Durant package.
Bridges collected an average of 26.1 points in the last 27 games of this season and 19.6 in 2023-24, before becoming more an offensive support for the Knicks behind Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns.
