Jerusalem / Cairo:

The American special envoy Steve Witkoff met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday in order to save Gaza Truce to speak and tackle a humanitarian crisis in the enclave, where a global hunger instructor warned that famine takes place.

Shortly after the arrival of Witkoff, President Donald Trump posted on his social network Truth: “The fastest way to end the humanitarian crises in Gaza is that Hamas goes and releases the hostages !!”

The United States Department of State has also announced sanctions against officials of the Palestinian Authority and the Palestine Liberation Organization, saying that groups were paying peace efforts.

It was the latest quarter of Washington’s apparent diplomatic work supporting Israel against the Palestinians and diverging from its European allies.

The AP and OLP, rivals of Hamas fighters who control Gaza, are internationally accepted as representatives of the Palestinian people and administrators of a Palestinian state that France, Great Britain and Canada have declared in recent days that they could soon recognize as independent.

A spokesperson for the Palestinian authority did not immediately respond to a request for comments. The complete impact of the American move was not immediately clear: the State Department said that targeted persons would be prohibited from going to the United States but have not identified the targets.

Witkoff arrived in Israel with the government of Netanyahu faced with international pressure on the general destruction of Gaza and the constraints on territory aid. He will go to Gaza on Friday to inspect the delivery of food aid while working on a final level to accelerate deliveries to the enclave, said the White House.

“The Special Envoy and the Ambassador will inform the president immediately after their visit to approve a final plan for food and aid in the region,” said the journalists.

The indirect ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas in Doha ended in a dead end last week with the blame of the interchange for the dead end and the shortcomings that persist on questions, in particular the extent of an Israeli military withdrawal
