Montreal-Wimbledon champion, Iga Swiatek, easily happened in the third round of the National Bank Open, beating Guo Hanyu of China 6-3, 6-1 Wednesday.

Playing for the first time since Routing Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 in the Wimbledon final for its sixth major, SwiTek ran to a 4-0 lead to push his victories sequence at 24.

“I think I played a really solid match today,” said Swiatek. “Playing the first match on Hard Court after a fairly long break of the surface is always difficult, so I’m happy to focus on myself, adapting to conditions and playing well.”

Friday, the Polish star of the second seeded will face Eva Lys from Germany, a winner 6-3, 6-4 against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia in a night match.

The double reigning champion Jessica Pegula of the United States also advanced, at the top of Marie Sakkari from Greece 7-5, 6-4. Amanda Anisimova, fifth seeded, also in the United States, beat Lulu Sun from New Zealand 6-4, 7-6 (5).

Madison Keys of sixth seeds of the United States beaten Germany Laura Siegemund 6-2, 6-1 and the former leading player, Naomi Osaka, Japan, joined Liudmila Samsonoa in Russia 4-6, 7-6 (6), 6-3.
