A group of four Muslim members of the US Congress – Andre Carson, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and Latifah Simon – as well as the non -Muslim legislator Summer Lee, is committed to bringing the question of the serious violations of human rights and the alleged genocide of non -armed Palestinian civilians in the Human Rights Commission of the US Congress.

During a meeting in a local Oakland hotel with a delegation from the Islamic Circle in North America (ICNA) during the weekend, legislators assured that they would pressure for formal hearings of the Congress on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and would explore all possible avenues to facilitate the delivery of food and medical aid to the confessional areas.

The ICNA delegation, led by Dr. Asim Asad, included members who have traveled through the United States – Florida, Dallas, Sacramento and San Jose – to meet both and collectively the legislators. The meeting was organized in coordination with the American Muslim Muslim Action Committee, whose president, Istefa Zaidi, organized a reception dinner in honor of the guests of the Congress. Zaidi also underlined the Muslim unity in his remarks.

The ICNA delegation invited Dr. Bilal Piracha, a doctor who had returned three days earlier from Gaza, in Brèves legislators on the aggravation situation. Piracha, speaking during the event, delivered an emotional and graphic story of the destruction of which he witnessed, calling the members of the Congress to personally visit the Gaza border and to direct the convoys of rescue trucks in the region.

“It’s no longer a moment for words but for action,” said Piracha. “That the members of the Congress are seen, that the world can see that we cannot remain silent while the genocide takes place. Even if we are arrested or blocked, the message must be sent: enough.”

He also called upon – thanks to a viral video on social networks – to the Pakistani army leader, the Marshal Asim Munnir, exhorting him to take advantage of his growing relations with former American president Donald Trump to put pressure on American leadership to stop what he described as “the systematic extermination of the Palestinians”.

Piracha has also urged Pakistan soldiers to coordinate with Egypt and Jordan to send emergency goods – including food and medicine – via C -1 transports planes through Rafah’s border crossing.

Describing this as his third medical rescue mission in Gaza, Dr. Piracha said that the current conditions were “much worse and completely inhuman” compared to his previous visits. “Continuous attacks, bloodshed and a flood of women, children and elderly people injured in the hospitals that barely work-it is a humanitarian disaster,” he said.

He noted that World Central Kitchen, who had provided one meal a day, stopped operations a week ago. “Hospitals are out of advanced equipment, essential drugs and even basic food supplies. People now say: “Give us bread – even if you shoot us on the ball afterwards. »»

Food assistance from the United Nations has also been interrupted. According to Piracha, Israeli and American commercial interests operating under the cover of the “Gaza Foundation” benefit from the crisis. “Thousands of people are hungry, but only a few dozen boxes are distributed-and Israeli forces use the rest as bait to make mass fire,” he said.

He also revealed that many victims were unattended when the fear of shooting elite shooters dissuaded the efforts to recover the bodies. His team, granted to access through the World Health Organization and the Humanitarian heroic group, included 30 volunteers who worked in extreme conditions.

At its peak, 20 kitchens operated in Gaza, but due to a lack of funds, only four large kitchens remain, each costing more than $ 120,000 per month. “We feed a few thousand families with basic stews based on eggplant and zucchini cultivated locally in Gaza,” said Piracha.

He concluded by saying that the inhabitants of Gaza, after 14 days of despair and devastation, are now to be asked: where is the Muslim Ummah? Where is humanity?
