Carlo Biado and Johann Chua and 10 Filipino compatriots reached the stadium with direct elimination by various paths of the world swimming pool championship in Djeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Biado killed the compatriot Lee Van Corteza, 9-4, while Chua beat Oliver Szolnoki, 9-3, to hit their tickets in the 64 tower of the prestigious 9-ball competition.

They succeeded after having published their second victory in as many games, with Roland Garcia, Marvin Asis, Jefrey Roda, Anton Raga, Bernie Regalario, James Aranas, Jeffrey Ignacio and Aj Manas.

Aranas amazed the double winner Albin Oanschan, 9-5, Ignacio spread his Filipino compatriot Michael Baoanan, 9-8, and Manas overcome Aloysius Yapp, 9-6. Michael Feliciano and Patric Gonzales also went to the last 64, although through the support of the loser.
Ficaliano rebounded to lose to Sanjin Pehlivanovic, 9-2, being victorious on Stefan Kasper, 9-8, while Gonzales recovered from a backhand in the hands of Ko Ping Chung, 9-5, by dominating Ko Ping Han, 9-1.
