The PBA on Monday was again firm in its decision to call the dunk of Mo Tautuaa as interference of the basket during the last seconds of match 1 of the final of the Philippine Cup PBA which ended with TNT obtaining a 99-96 victory on the beer of San Miguel.
Sub-commissioner Eric Castro also assured that the games were ordained in the middle of the offices of those who made it possible to know why the Tautuaa attempt, which rebounded on the edge before going to the basket, was canceled by a video review.

“I want to tell the public that we, in the technical committee, do our work to ensure the integrity of the game,” said Castro when he and the member of the Bong Technical Committee Pascual informed the “starting range” program.
“It doesn’t matter if it is an elimination match, semi-finals or finals, we will do what is right and correct,” added Castro, who a few moments after the controversial arrival said Tautuaa committed a violation for shooting the ring while he was going to slam the ball.

Tautuaa initially given San Miguel an advance of 98-97 with 56 seconds, but it took 50 seconds before the game stop which allowed the technical committee to restore the basket.

Castro first declared after the match that the dunk was revisable if the opening of the title had ended without any death situation. But the deputy retracted the declaration the next day in the same show.
“We can no longer correct goalkeepers and basket interference once the game clock expired,” said Castro.
The referees Mardy Montoya, Rommel Gruta and Jerry Narandan, on the other hand, missed the interference, which prevented an opportunity to revise on the spot. The game continued until a jump ball was called between the head of the Jordan de Tnt and Chris Ross de San Miguel.
“Referee Mardy Montoya who was in the central position was certain that it was not an interference from the basket, Rommel Gruta who was the referee of the trail and Jerry Narandan who was in the head position, did not know if there was an interference from the basket,” said Castro.
Pascual, on the other hand, said that the Committee would study the possibility of overthrowing the sanctions in Montoya, Gruta and Narandan for the violation of Tautuaa.
