Jannik Sinner killed the defending champion Carlos Alcaraz 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 Sunday to win his first title from Wimbledon, winning a sweet revenge for his painful defeat in the final of the French Open.

The world number one is the first Italian to win at the All England Club and now has four Grands Chelem in his name at the age of 23.

The sinner remained freezing after losing the first set, with the momentum moving quickly and concluded the victory for a shade for three hours.

He had wasted three championship points in the final at Roland Garros five weeks ago, but this time was not mistaken because he served for the victory.

Sinner said he was living in his “dream”, causing an erase of acclamation from the crowd of the central court.

“An incredible tournament, but above all thank you for the player you are,” said Sinner, referring to his defeated opponent.

The defeat in Paris last month was a bitter blow for the seeded, which led by two sets and had a cover of championship points.

Sinner said he had tried to learn from his “difficult loss” about clay.

“We tried to accept the loss and continued to work,” he said. โ€œThis is certainly one of the reasons why I hold this trophy here.

“I am so grateful that I am in good health and that I have great people around me, and holding this trophy means a lot.”

Before Sunday’s victory, the sinner had lost five consecutive times against Alcaraz, including the final of the Italian Open during the first tournament he played after his return from a three -month doping ban.

But this time, he turned the tables impressively, refusing to the world number two Alcaraz a sixth major.

The sinner, always carrying a protective white round after his bad fall in his fourth round match against Grigor Dimitrov, broke in the first match of the second set.

He led 3-1 after the game was briefly interrupted by a cork of flying champagne and continued to level the match with a whipped right blow.

The third set was a tense case that was served with the service to the ninth match when Sinner broke while Alcaraz slipped on the baseline and he took a two sets to one.

The strength was now with Pinner and he broke out again at the start of the fourth set to take the match through the skin of the neck.

Luck has always been there that Alcaraz would produce the magic he found in Roland Garros, but Sinner remained concentrated and suffocated his chances.

The Italian intensified to serve the championship in the middle of a noise cacophony, sealing the agreement on his second championship point.

The sinner crossed the first three laps in Wimbledon, losing only 17 games – equaling a record of the era opened in 1972.

But he was lucky in the fourth round against the 19th head of Bulgarian Inspired Dimitrov, who led in two sets when he suffered an injury that forced him to leave.

The sinner returned to the groove against the 10th seeded Ben Shelton in the quarter -final before demolishing the Djokovic champion in the last four.

Alcaraz was aimed at becoming the fifth man in the era open to win three consecutive Wimbledons after Bjorn Borg, Pete Sampras, Federer and Djokovic.

“It is a really well-deserved trophy after two incredible weeks here in London for you, playing an excellent tennis,” he said to Sinner.
