An international conference intended to relaunch work on a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been reprogrammed from July 28 to 29, diplomatic sources for AFP told AFP.

Originally for mid-June, the UN head office conference in New York was postponed at the last minute due to Israel’s surprise military campaign.

It has now been postponed to the end of July, diplomatic sources said, although they cannot provide details on changes in the agenda or the level of participating representatives. Heads of state and government were to attend in June.

The conference was summoned by the United Nations General Assembly and is co -resigned by France and Saudi Arabia.

On Thursday, French president Emmanuel Macron called during his visit to the United Kingdom for the joint recognition of France and Great Britain of a Palestinian State, affirming that these movements are “the only hope of peace” in the region.
