The star of the Philippine women’s football team, Sarina Bolden, denounced Thursday that a LCA injury suffered a few months earlier made him miss the recent qualifications of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup.
In a long post on social networks, Bolden said that she had gone through a difficult period after being injured last April by playing for the women of Italian Como FC, but promised to overcome her backhand.

“There is really no preparation for the genre of pain that comes with an injury like this, not only physically, but mentally and emotionally too,” said Bolden. “When the thing that has been your world for as long as you remember is suddenly taken, it is difficult to understand it.
She added that there had been “a shock, a sadness, a denial, a frustration” in the middle of its continuous recovery of surgery last May in Australia, and understands that “it will be a long road and I give myself the grace to take it day after day”.
Bolden did not play in the friendly defeat of the Philippins at home against Chinese Taipei and the three victories on three games in the qualifiers for the Asian Cup in Cambodia.
The attacker is best known for having scored the only goal of the victory of the FIFA Women’s World Cup of Filipins in 2023 against New Zealand, and was a favorite among the community of Filipino football.
“I’m not finished. Far from it,” said Bolden.
