“Red Bull released Christian Horner from his operational functions with an effect today (Wednesday July 9, 2025) and appointed Laurent Mekies to the CEO of Red Bull Racing,” read the press release from Red Bull.

Oliver Mintzlaff, CEO of corporate projects and investments, paid the head of the team who released a complete tribute.

“With his tireless commitment, his experience, his expertise and his innovative thought, he played a decisive role in the creation of Red Bull Racing as one of the most successful and attractive teams of Formula 1.
“Thank you for everything, Christian, and you will forever remain an important part of the history of our team.”
