Manila, Philippines – The last two games are missing due to the abdominal tension, Niña Ytang returned just in time to help the University of the Philippines find its winning paths in the women’s volleyball tournament of the UAAP season 87.
Ytang caught up with lost time with a solid return, broadcasting 15 striking attacks, three blocks and two to finish with a summit of 20 points in a victory of 25-15, 15-25, 24-26, 25-22, 15-10 against Adamson at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“Honestly, I really felt bad with our last two games. I just told myself that I had to bounce back for the team. Not only for me, but for the team because I have to contribute. I do my best in any way possible to help the team, ”said Ytang in Philippin.

Up coach Benson Bocboc admitted that Ytang should adapt after missing the action, because the old best UAAP intermediate blocker was almost overcome by his emotions when they were down two sets on one.
“During the third set, I was really emotional. I almost cried. I am grateful, however, because I have my older teammates there who remind me that it is not the time to be afraid or to lose hope, ”she said. “I told myself that I am one of the veterans now, so I cannot show the team that I am down or that my emotions affect my game. I need to be more mature on the field. »»
Ytang gathered her act when she conspired with Irah Jaboneta, Joan Monares and Kianne Olango to spoil 38 points from Adamie Rookie Shaina Nitura’s recruit while Up broke a skipping of four games to finish the first round with a 3-4 file.
“It’s so comforting and makes me proud, especially to see how we really fight in a team. We would not have obtained this victory if we did not help each other, “said Ytang.
